Lake City High School
Aynor boys soccer defeated Lake City Friday night in Aynor on what turned out to be a perfect night for soccer. After fearing a rainout earlier in the day, the skies brightened and the breeze blew in a great atmosphere for the evening. The boys went to work early as Christian Riddle scored two goals on assists from Kole Bryson and James Feaser. Christian also assisted Dylan West on the third goal with a beautiful cross from the right corner. Lake City added a goal of their own to end first half scoring 3-1 in Aynor’s favor.
The second half began with numerous near misses for Aynor as they failed to finish on at least three attempts. Lake City then climbed back into the game and tied it 3-3 with six minutes remaining. Kole Bryson then worked the ball around the left side and put away the game winner unassisted and the bluejackets hung on to win 4-3. Noah Earnest recorded 6 saves on the night as keeper. His defending corp of Tradd Humphries, Henry Sherrill, Armondo Ramero, and Jaren McQueen worked extremely hard on the evening to preserve the win. The team plays again Tuesday night of next week at home at 6:00.
