Boys varsity soccer scores 5 goals in a night full of scoring as they tie Wexford Collegiate 5-5 in a friendly match in Aynor Tuesday night. Wexford is visiting our area out of Canada and has several matches with local schools this week.
Christian Riddle and Kole Bryson led the scoring for Aynor with two goals each while Zach Gray added a fifth on a penalty kick. Wexford jumped out to an early lead in the first seconds of the game on a rip from well beyond the 18. Aynor answered on a goal by Christian Riddle. Wexford then scored on a penalty kick for a foul in the box. The bluejackets countered with a goal from Kole Bryson. The Canadians the went up by one before the half. Several minutes into the second half, Wexford was called for a hand ball in the penalty area and Zach Gray nailed the kick to even things at 3-3. Wexford added a fourth so Aynor added another from Kole Bryson to tie. Just when it looked as if all the scoring was finished, Wexford added a fifth goal to lead 5-4. Not to be outdone, Christian Riddle worked the ball through the middle and ripped the fifth and final goal of the night to end scoring at 5.
